How many books can I borrow?

Undergraduate students can borrow a maximum of six books at a time, whilst Postgraduate students can borrow up to ten, the loan period for Library items is three weeks.

Students may renew or extend their borrowed library items up to three times, allowing for plenty of time to absorb information and get to grips with their texts.

How can the library help me with my studies?

The library supports student learning in many ways.We have access to an extensive collection of Books, eBooks, journals and other research materials.We offer advice and guidance on finding, evaluating and using information of the highest academic quality for the completion of assignments and research.We provide help with referencing sources across a range of styles, including Harvard, APA and OSCOLA.

The team works flexibly with students, by offering supplementary learning sessions, on a one-to-one basis online or on site within the library environments. We also deliver Information Skills within the classroom, as an integral part of preparing our students to undertake their academic journeys.

Help is available at the Study Hubs for anyone needing advice on formatting documents, navigating systems and databases, and printing.

How do I access online resources?

The UCFB Library has a wide range of resources for our students to access online. In partnership with The University of East London, our students have access to a selection of online journals, eBooks and databases. We also subscribe to specialist databases that complement the courses offered here at UCFB. You can gain access to all of these through the Library Page on the UCFB Online Hub.

Library Catalogue

The Library Catalogue allows you to search, access and reserve books from our specialist collection. Through the “My Portal” section you can check your account for items that you currently have on loan and renew your items.
